When Manish Jain, talking about his father says, "There can be nobody like him," he could not have been more truthful in airing his opinion about the most important person in his life, Suresh Jain. It is his efforts that have borne fruit and Moradabad stands richer in terms of education with the Teerthankar Mahaveer Colleges of Studies. "I felt that there was a need for a good medical college in this city, as there was none. I saw the plight of students who travelled to other cities to study and that's how the idea of establishing a good medical college came up," Suresh says simply, little realising not many even with his kind of means would have thought of something like this for the sake of the people of this region. "It was the time when the Government invited private organizations to apply for establishing universities. My proposal was given the green signal and that is how this educational set up happened," Suresh goes on to explain. Today the university encompasses within its ambit multiple disciplines, making it virtually an empire of sorts.
Located over an impressive 110 acres of land, amid a picturesque landscape, the numerous buildings based on Jain architecture present a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty, also combining with it the surrounding wide road network. It is indeed difficult to believe that one who made a humble beginning with small enterprises and brass exports should have envisioned this magnificent educational conglomerate. Acclaimed as one of the best in the state, it is steadily moving towards becoming fully air-conditioned with all modern amenities to conform to world class standards.
The Jains count their colleges with pride, listing Teerthankar Mahaveer Medical College & Research Center, Teerthankar Mahaveer Dental College & Research Center, Teerthankar Mahaveer College of Nursing, Teerthankar Mahaveer College of Pharmacy, Teerthankar Mahaveer College of Management, Teerthankar Mahaveer College of Engineering, Teerthankar Mahaveer College of Hotel & Tourism Management, Teerthankar Mahaveer College of Education. The under-construction state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports complex, auditorium and swimming pool are set to further add to the string of facilities already offered at the university complex. "Our aim is to provide the best of infrastructure, faculty, boarding and teaching facilities to the students," declares Manish, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the group and one who plans untiringly, making efforts to put the best foot forward in the realm of providing quality education in a well equipped and at the same time, positive environment.
