Pawan Jain: A Truly Noteworthy
Achievement, Mangalayatan Group, AligarhThe magnificent frontage of Mangalayatan UniversityStudents on a learning spree

Surveying what he has come to possess today, the young and handsome Swapnil Jain, heir to the legacy that his father Pawan Jain has created in Aligarh, cannot but help swell with pride. His present acquisitions today comprise the Mangalayatan group, and chains of some other institutions, including Delhi Public Schools across North India. "The locks that my father made unlocked our destiny," is what he has to say about the family's initial days of struggle. With the vision that professes , 'Vishwa Gyane Pratishthanam', the university equipped with the requisite present day state-of-the-art technologies in terms of libraries and auditoria, includes in its curriculum numerous personality building activities and conducts training as well as guidance procedures that also encompass imparting language skills among the students. The placement cell works round the year for campus recruitments and scouts for industries where passouts from Mangalayatan are able to land lucrative jobs.

"We are a close knit and deeply religious Jain family. We have followed the Jain ideals and principles all through our lives and I firmly believe that it is my faith in God that has helped me all through," says Pawan. He goes on to add, "I had a dream to spread faith, universal peace and so I conceived Mangalayatan Teerth Dhaam. I could never do it alone and was supported in every possible manner by Jains from all over the world." Swapnil picks up the threads of his thoughts from here to further elaborate, "Well that was the start of a silent revolution. Values and virtues can only be taught by parents and teachers, so to carry forward the ideologies of Managalayatan to the coming generations of the country, we decided to make Mangalayatan University." While on the one hand the university gets its spiritual feel due to the efforts of Pawan, son Swapnil is the brain behind the world class curriculum and the technically advanced premises.

Dotted with trees and strategically planned spots of greenery, the sprawling campus comprises aesthetically laid out buildings and other operation areas. The blocks named after different rivers are filled with students who by walking in soon after its inception, have expressed their faith in it, in its very first year of existence. Its Vice-Chancellor is none other than one of the most reputed educationists of our times, Dr Bhoomittra Dev. "There are a lot of things that we work on to give a qualitative pattern to education here. From a small innovative initiative like 'Toppers Avenue,' to motivate students to a major effort at interaction with parents on a regular basis, something that is unheard of in other universities, we don't stop at anything. Our sole aim is to make a stint in Managalayatan, both a memorable as well as a fruitful experience for every student," he says emphatically.
