It is family bonding that stands you in good stead in whatever you may want to do in life, is something that the Agarwals who own the ambitious businesses by the name of, Vishal Videos and Appliances in Lucknow, seem to firmly believe. Such is their trust and love for each other, that today the same values have percolated down to the generation next in their family as well. So here we see cousins growing up like siblings and bonding like friends. It is in this environment of bonhomie and camaraderie that the business thrives, resulting in manifold returns, rewards of a combined effort and a coordination born out of some great level of understanding.
It is this rare facet of this entrepreneurial family that has seen them through the thick and thin of life with comparative ease and helped them rise to such an enviable position. Years back when they came to the state capital from Gorakhpur and opened up a small video cassette library, they had no clue this would prove to be the precursor of big times. It was Manoj, who decided to name their enterprise after their younger brother Vishal, because by consensus, he was considered lucky for the family.
Anand has qualities befitting that of an elder brother that he is. Considered the balancing factor among all three, is known to consciously adhere to punctuality, successfully juggling between appointments. A non-pretentious, straightforward individual, he is also known for his involvement in multifarious activities, other than focusing on work related to the business establishment, that is his passion. While there he is known for his hard work and dedication, the family bonds with him for his total involvement in their day-to-day affairs. Despite pressing work schedules, Anand plays badminton, goes for walks, is known to paint and read novels too. But then the moments he enjoys most is when he plays computer games with the young boys in the family, Mudit, Pulkit and the twins Karan and Kunal. Evenings see Anand drive around with his wife on their favourite Octavia.
Not just this, his role is also well defined in his wife's NGO, that helps disadvantaged women become economically independent by making handicrafts. The hospital accessories and outfits made by them are distributed among the needy in locations in Gorakhpur. In fact social work is something that is closest to his heart. When asked the obvious, as to how he manages time, Anand's reply is crisp. "Trust your team and let them work. They will deliver their best and you will be relieved of taxing timelines that normally all business professionals follow." Easier said than done, perhaps people would like to say, but then with Anand setting an example, this could in fact serve as an inspiration to many.
